University Writing Committee

The University Writing Committee (UWC) at Cal Poly Pomona is committed to enhancing writing across the curriculum. Comprised of faculty members from various disciplines, the UWC collaborates to improve and support the development of strong writing skills for all students. The committee oversees campus-wide writing initiatives, evaluates writing proficiency, and provides resources for instructors and students to advance writing instruction and learning. Through workshops, faculty development, and writing-related programs, the UWC ensures that writing remains a key part of the academic experience at Cal Poly Pomona, preparing students for success in their academic, professional, and civic lives.
The UWC is an advisory body, offering recommendations on writing requirements and policies while encouraging innovative writing pedagogy to meet the needs of our diverse student population. Whether you are a student seeking to improve your writing or a faculty member looking for support in integrating writing into your courses, the UWC is here to strengthen a vibrant campus community that values writing in all areas.
